ABOUT ME
Right let’s tell you a little about me and my studio salon.
I have been in the hair industry now for nearly 10 years and I have loved every minute. I am trained in all aspects of hairdressing including hair extensions and bridal hair.
I began training a little later than most after exploring an avenue with fashion and textiles, I decided I wanted to be in a more hands on client focused career. Having always loved hair and nails I began my training at a well established hair salon in West Bridgford. Whilst I was there I received the best training I could have possibly had, my boss let me be hands on straight away and taught me everything i know.
After working at the salon as an employee I took a leap of faith and decided to go self employed and I am so glad I did. I loved where I worked but I felt I needed to explore other avenues. Which is when I joined Mychelle at her salon. I was so nervous but I felt so welcome from the day I joined. The salon is warm and friendly and works slightly differently to most. It is broken up into 4 businesses, Mychelle Caroline hair, hair by Kelsea, hc aesthetics and then mine. The working environment is perfect, we all run our own businesses but come together as a team to keep the salon working smoothly.
My studio is on the top floor, I work on a one to one basis which means you have my time focused solely on you with no distractions.
Let me go through the general routine of an appointment so you know what to expect,
upon arrival I will come down and greet you and guide you up the stairs,
I will then have a chat with you about what the plans are for your hair. This happens on every appointment regardless of how long you have been coming to me, this is your opportunity to tell me exactly what you want. It’s then over to me to provide the service you require. I believe a consultation is a very important part of hairdressing, it’s all about communication.
Once the service is done and your feeling fabulous i then book your next appointment, take payment and then guide you back down to the front door and wave goodbye until next time.
Now a little about me, I don’t believe I am your typical hairdresser, I am a very chilled out person, you will always find me with my hair thrown up on the top of my head in a messy bun. Nothing fazes me and nothing is ever any trouble, I believe there is always a solution to everything and nothing is worth worrying about.
I love a good chat about anything and everything. My clients always comment on my memory and how I remember silly little things about their lives and the conversations we have however in real life my memory is awful. There’s something about the salon and the facial recognition of seeing clients that unlocks the file in my brain for each and every one of you.
When I’m not in the salon Im either with my family or at the seaside, I love being by the sea, Devon is my dream retirement location. There’s just something about that place! Much to the amusement of my clients I have recently taken up golf which has become my new hobby outside of work, all the gear and no idea definitely sums up my capability of the sport though.
